Language
The lecture and the assignments are taught in German. The lecture materials (slides, articles, handouts...) will be in English. Student solutions and presentations in English are accepted and welcome. The exam will be in German but English answers are also accepted.
Meeting Times and Places
Lecture
The lecture takes place on Thursday 14:25-16:00 S2 02 | C205. In addition to the lecture, labs, student presentations or solution discussion may also take place on Thursday directly after the lecture to tight the lecture contents - if needed. In that case we will publish a note in the forum.
Exercises
The exercise takes place on Monday 13:30-15:00 S2 02 | C205. Here for each assignment several proposed student solutions will be presented and their advantages & flaws will be discussed with the auditorium.
Office Hour
Students that have questions on the exercises may visit the office hour.
Before you come to our office send an email
that summarizes your request/question.
The office hour takes place on request Friday 13:00-14:00 S2 02 | A222.
Exam Bonus
For each exercise students can reach a bonus for the exam. In total a bonus making up to 1.0 grade in the exam can be reached. The bonus is computed as follows: For each assignment a number of exam points can be reached. These bonus points are then added to your exam result. These bonus points can be used to pass the exam but only if 25 % of the achievable points are reached without bonus.
Example
Consider the following: A student has successfully completed seven of ten exercises, thus, has reached exam bonus of 0.7. Consider further that 100 points can be reached in the exam. In order to use the bonus a minimum of 25 points must be reached without the bonus.
Exam
The exam is on Thursday, February 14th, 2008, 11 am - 1 pm. Every student must register to the exam for which a web interface will be provided in the mid of January. The room assigment will be announced at a later time. The room assignments are published in the se design forum.
