Student Volunteers
ECOOP 2003 is looking for student volunteers!
Requirements for Applicants
To apply, please make sure that you fulfil our requirements:
You are a graduate or PhD student in the field of computer
science.
You speak English well. (If you speak any other languages,
that's fine, too!)
Duties
Your duties as a student volunteer will (among others) be the
following during the conference:
- presence from Saturday, July 19th to Saturday, July 26th,
- workshops and tutorials: guarding doors and technical
support,
- technical programme: guarding doors and microphones,
- social events: guarding doors and overall help,
- registration desk and information booth,
- fire prevention patrol.
Before and after the conference, you will help in:
- stuffing the delegates' packages,
- arranging and dearranging the conference area and workshop and
tutorial rooms,
- put on signs for information and messages.

- free admission to tutorials, workshops and the main conference
during your spare time,
- free lunches and coffee breaks on all conference days as well as
welcome receptions on Monday and Wednesday,
- 2 ECOOP t-shirts,
- certificate of participation in the organisation of ECOOP
2003,
- possibly partial refunding for travel and housing expenses if you
are not a student of Darmstadt University of Technology (this
is being considered at the moment),
- 3 credit points if you are a student of Darmstadt University of
Technology.
How to Apply
Your application must include the following:
- a short CV (no more than one page),
- a list of languages you speak,
- a recommendation letter from a faculty member of your university
if you are not a student of Darmstadt University of
Technology.
Deadline for applications is March 30th 2003, 12:00
a.m. GMT.
Selection will be done on a first received, first accepted
basis among suitable applications.
